Microsoft 365 & cloud services

Moving to the cloud, without the disruption

As a Microsoft partner, we help businesses take advantage of cloud technology to improve productivity, collaboration and security. Moving your email and files can seem daunting, so we migrate you to Microsoft 365, configure users, secure your data and make sure the transition is a smooth one.

Most 365 problems are setup problems

The software is rarely the thing that's broken. How it was put together usually is.

Whether you're moving to Microsoft 365 for the first time or looking to improve an existing setup, the problems tend to be the same ones. Licences nobody can account for. A shared mailbox that should have been a distribution list. Files living in three places because OneDrive, SharePoint and the old server were never clearly separated. Staff who left two years ago still holding a licence.

We go through what you actually have, tidy it up, and leave you with a tenant that makes sense: one set of files, the right number of licences, and admin access held by you rather than by whoever set it up first.

Moving to 365

A migration nobody in the office notices

The measure of a good email migration is that on Monday morning everyone opens Outlook and carries on. That takes preparation, not luck.

We look before we move

Every mailbox, its size, where the domain is pointed, who has access to what, and which machines are running which version of Office. Surprises get found here, not on the day.

Mail is copied, then switched

Mailboxes are copied across while the old system is still running, so nothing is in transit and nothing is lost. The switch itself happens when it suits you, usually overnight or over a weekend.

We stay for the first week

Phones, signatures, shared calendars and the printer that scans to email all need revisiting afterwards. We expect that, and we're on hand for it rather than closing the job the moment mail arrives.

Inherited a tenant you don't understand?

It's one of the most common calls we get. We'll document what's there, get the admin access back into your hands, and tell you what's costing you money for nothing.

Common questions

What businesses ask about 365

Will we lose any email during the move?

No. Mail is copied to the new mailboxes while the old system is still receiving, and the domain is only switched once the copy is complete and checked. Old mail, folder structure and calendars come across with it.

Can you take over the tenant our previous provider set up?

Yes, and it's worth doing thoroughly. We establish who holds global admin, move billing and ownership to you where it isn't already, document the licences, and remove anything that's being paid for and not used.

Do we still need backup if everything is in Microsoft 365?

Yes. Microsoft keeps your service running; it doesn't keep your data forever. Deleted items, departed staff and anything a ransomware incident encrypts are your responsibility, which is why we add Microsoft 365 backup alongside the tenant.

What's the difference between SharePoint and OneDrive?

OneDrive is your own work, the files you'd have kept in My Documents. SharePoint is the company's shared work, the thing that replaces the old server drive. Getting that boundary right at the start is what stops files scattering later.

Can you sort out our licences? We think we're overpaying.

Very likely you are. Leavers who kept a licence, people on a plan far above what they use, and duplicate subscriptions bought by different people are all common. We'll go through it with you line by line.

Do you only work with businesses on a monthly agreement?

No. A migration or a tidy-up can be a one-off project. If you'd rather someone kept an eye on it afterwards, that's what a monthly support agreement is for, but it isn't a condition of the work.
